What exactly do the various EN and ISO standards mean?

An ISO standard (International Organisation for Standardisation) is an internationally recognised standard for quality systems and an EN standard (European Standard) is a European recognised standard for quality systems. Both of them set out the criteria for safety clothing. There are various kinds of EN and ISO standards.

Each ISO/EN standardised garment comes with a user instruction. This user instruction mentions amongst others from which the garment offers protection, how it needs to be used, what the cleaning and maintenance instructions are and other particulars. It is of great importance that the user follows these instructions.

Under the header ‘norm’ you can find an extensive description of all the standards.
