We’re currently in the middle of a detox here at HAVEP. Why? Because we are working to eliminate the use of harmful chemicals throughout the entire clothing chain. In favour of a more environmentally-friendly approach and better health and safety of all those involved.
Things like an 8-hour working day and safe labour conditions are all very normal to us, but unfortunately these conditions are far from standard in many other countries. Fair Wear Foundation is a non-profit organisation that dedicates itself to create fair labour conditions in the textile sector.
At HAVEP we believe that a circular economy is the future and that’s why we set ourselves the target of having a 90% circular collection in 2025.
Each day we dedicate ourselves at HAVEP to make our work clothing as sustainable as possible. We follow the innovations within the textile sector very closely and keep learning so that we can make the best, sustainable work clothing. But why would you as an entrepreneur choose for sustainable work clothing? What are the concrete advantages? We give you a list with 5 reasons for choosing sustainable work clothing.
Since 2017, we work together with Atila to make punch bags filled with textile waste coming from our workshop. A cool and sustainable solution for the 5,000 kilo cuttings we produce on a monthly basis. It also helps us to get one step closer to our target of a 90% circular production in 2025.
In a circular economy it’s all about cooperation. We can’t change the world alone, but together we can. A perfect example of how to make a huge difference by joining forces is the cooperation between Healthy Seas and Aquafil, the producer of the innovative Econyl® nylon thread. Choosing for Econyl® nylon thread gives us a unique chance to contribute to cleaning the oceans and at the same time make an important step towards a circular economy. At HAVEP we want 90% of our produced work clothing to be circular in 2025. How we want to achieve this target? By exploring innovations and investing in long-term solutions. A perfect example of our sustainable innovations are the HAVEP® Attitude jeans, a pair of very strong jeans made from cuttings.
With the HAVEP® Green Choice label we make it easier for you to make a green and conscious choice. Reduce your ecological footprint by choosing HAVEP® Green Choice products.
The HAVEP Attitude jeans are hardwearing, stylish and made form sustainable materials. In short: it’s your perfect partner on the work floor.
Thursday 8 June saw the launch of the Green Deal together with Belgian minister Schauvliege. HAVEP signed the Green Deal together with 132 companies, public authorities and advisory bodies. More than 25% of the purchasers who signed have the ambition to switch to circular textiles. When purchasing work clothing for their employees amongst others, they think about reusing or recycling the materials at a later stage. By signing the first Green Deal of public authority Circular Flanders they made that commitment.
At HAVEP we installed 1200 solar panels on our roof. Sustainability is very important to us. Want to know more about green energy and our sustainable production process? Read about it here.
On behalf of the entire team of HAVEP we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a fantastic 2017. With confidence we start a new year and make 2017 into an innovative and durable year. You'll never work alone with HAVEP.
